How do I set the default web browser through the registry editor? Literally everything works for me except this one issue.

Unable to change default programs bug in 1.7.0.6522 & 1.7.0.6510

Hopefully your preset will help him find the issue then. I also installed outside of a VM, but I didn't use mixed language settings. I also recall disabling internet explorer in my preset, and nuhi did say that was probably related. nuhi please let me know if you make any progress on this :)

Unable to change default programs bug in 1.7.0.6522 & 1.7.0.6510

I wonder why nuhi can't reproduce this, if 3 users so far have reported the same issue. LIINdd can you try this in 1809, with NTLite 1.7.0.6545? And could you upload screenshots too? (snipping tool is great for that) I won't have time to look into this again until the weekend, but this is an...

Unable to edit start menu bug in 1.7.0.6522

I understood. My intent with that reply was to say that I was only using the 1803 ISO and nothing else. So no, I did not use the 1709 .NET files. :)

Unable to change default programs bug in 1.7.0.6522 & 1.7.0.6510

Do you think the IE removal also has to do with breaking windows security center in 1809?

Unable to edit start menu bug in 1.7.0.6522

I added .NET 3.5 by going to the Updates tab on the left, then clicking "Add" => "Template" => ".NET Framework 3.5". Is that not the right way to do it?

Windows Security bug in 1809 + NTLite 1.7.0.6522

Hey nuhi The new Windows Security center in Windows 1809 is broken with NTLite 1.7.0.6522 and the below preset. I applied the preset to Windows 10 1809 EN/US x64 Professional Education as downloaded from the MS website. When I open Windows Security from the Settings app, I am presented with a...

Unable to edit start menu bug in 1.7.0.6522

Hey nuhi This issue resolved itself when I applied the same presets to 1809 instead of 1803, so something in the upgrade to 1809 fixed it! So don't worry about it I guess :p

Unable to change default programs bug in 1.7.0.6522 & 1.7.0.6510

Hey nuhi I found something that might be helpful... I tried running NTLite on the newest Windows 10 1809 release, and I was still able to replicate the error (again I used Windows 10 Professional Education, downloaded with my earlier method) However, I noticed this issue only affects the web...

Unable to change default programs bug in 1.7.0.6522 & 1.7.0.6510

In both this bug and my start menu editing bug, I included all recent updates AND the .net 3.5 template. That might also help with replicating the issue.

Unable to edit start menu bug in 1.7.0.6522

I don't add any registry files or scripts, but I do add all updates and .NET 3.5 to the ISO using NTLite. When I download the ISO using the method above from the MS website, "Professional Education" is one of the options in NTLite. Would it help if I sent you the ISO I made that has the bug?

Unable to change default programs bug in 1.7.0.6522 & 1.7.0.6510

bump Here is a copy of my post from September 13th: --- Default program configuration is broken. For example, I want to set my web browser to Firefox. The default web browser after installation is "IE ActiveX Interface Marshaling Library". When I click on it (to change it), a popup window...

Unable to edit start menu bug in 1.7.0.6522

Hey nuhi, I tried using 1.7.0.6522 to install to a new computer, and I noticed the start menu will not save any changes I make to it... First, when I open the Settings App and make changes to the start menu, such as unchecking "show app list", there is no effect on the start menu. Second...

Unable to change default programs bug in 1.7.0.6522 & 1.7.0.6510

Hey nuhi, I tried the release you made today (1.7.0.6522) and still ran into the same issue with being unable to change the default applications as I mentioned here. I know you said you had problems replicating the error, but I was able to replicate it myself on separate hardware. These were...

    ActiveX Blacklist

Is there any security benefit to keeping the IE ActiveX blacklist if I remove ActiveX installation functionality from Internet Explorer? I've been leaving it in case there's some undocumented way to install ActiveX scripts that could be exploited, but I'm not sure it helps at all. Thanks!
