Manually adding DISM packages to a mounted image

I didn't know you could stop before saving the image, that helps! A way to 'force integrate' packages though would still be awesome. it kind of is, depending on how you look, not for the official updates, mind you, that I 100% agree with you should be automatic, but for bits and pieces of...

Manually adding DISM packages to a mounted image

Basically what it says on the tin. Much like the right click options on the image list to remove/convert an image on the iso, but on the updates list, in case we want to manually add features Microsoft removed 'for our own good' (Read to keep us from using version X for Y purposes, when they're...

    Miracast, Again.

Yeah, I've just managed to try that MDL workaround. I managed to assemble a script to do it (I don't trust myself to manage on the fly without typos), but every time I enable the Regulated Packages needed for it, wireless display gets disabled and can't be enabled without errors. So I added it...

    Miracast, Again.

Yes, I've tried to do it with ntlite, due to ADD, I suck at using the command line and have broken my computer doing so in the past. I use scripts, but made a point to never ever test them on my live install, always on a test machine first. This is what I did: Downloaded stuff from uupdump...

    Miracast, Again.

again, might not be the place to ask, but can NTLite deal with PSF updates?

    Miracast, Again.

it's the most family friendly word I can use as well. The other curses I can't use in polite company or even impolite company for some.

    Miracast, Again.

Again 7/8.1 give me bluescreens whenever optimus switches from the iGPU (UHD630) to the dGPU (GTX1660). From what little I gathered on the subject apparently the DLL accused in the blue screen is an Audio library, but the actual issue is actually in the internal USB-C controller (there's no...

    Miracast, Again.

Which windows? 7, 8.1, 10 or 11? ...Actually, can NTLite even deal with split FoDs like 11 is using? (there's 2-3 cabs for just about every thing in that one)

    Miracast, Again.

True, and I've used it in previous notebooks, including a 2-in-1, which many people said it was impossible to get working. This particular model, a Dell G5 5590, has issues on anything but 10/11. And not only yellow bangs on device manager, I'm talking actual audio issues and one nasty bug on...

    Miracast, Again.

Notebook user. Too many power failures where I live to safely use a desktop. Nvidia Optimus is my enemy, but until a few moments ago, AMD was NOT the best choice for gamers... Now it is and my next system is going to be AMD for sure.

    Miracast, Again.

To be fair, if there were drivers for my machine in windows seven, I'd be using that. After NTLiting, of course. But it was way better than what we've been forced to deal with as of recently.

    Miracast, Again.

Tried to build myself a Home (Single Language) edition, but unlike the LTSC, I can't add Wireless Display packages to it. (the same ones which integrate without issue on LTSC)

    Miracast, Again.

Thanks for the fix, will try! And the problem with Home edition is telemetry. Not so much as blocking it, but how much in terms of resources are spent trying to generate it. if there is a way to not update/upgrade and have a no telemetry machine on home edition... well, I have OEM laptops so...

    Miracast, Again.

Its a simple question, yet a loaded one: Is miracast irreversibly broken in LTSC 2021? I've tried many times since it was released, and not even in an unmodded image, I can get it to work. I have tried to enable Wireless Display in the FoD tab, update, drivers... to no avail. So I'm asking for...

    Install Windows 7 & 8.1 on Intel 8th, 9th, and 10th generation - Closed

I am slightly suspiscious (hahaha, sarcasm on the 'slighly' BTW), that this is a deliberate ploy of M$ to force people to abandon the telemetry-lite OSs like Windows 8.1 and 7. It doesn't help that if you look at it objectively, it took 2 gens (from Intel Skylake to Coffee Lake) to actually...

    Install Windows 7 & 8.1 on Intel 8th, 9th, and 10th generation - Closed

Intel ME is only required for enterprise level access (that is what the Simple communications controller usually is). There's an intel Null_Heci driver compatible with most of them, which is basically 'don't bug me, you don't need this driver to function' message for the OS. The main problem is...

Device Setup Manager and USB disk eject support

Yup. that's basically the issue I had that had me reinstalling test machine and then making this report thread in a nutshell: It hurts usability a lot more than it improves performance.

Device Setup Manager and USB disk eject support

I admit I didn't try that. Oops? But in any case, the icon is handy, and that component is really small (0.5mb), so I guess it's worth keeping, for most people?

Device Setup Manager and USB disk eject support

Just a quick note to anyone having that particular issue, but removing 'Device Setup Manager' from 'Remoting and Privacy' breaks the Safely Eject USB Drive from Notification Tray icons.

    Windows 11

the now discontinued autodesk sketchbook is my to go replacement of paint, to be honest, ever since this motion to turn perfectly working programs into buggy 'apps'. after many twists and turns until I found its .msi bundle was broken beyond repair, I remember to try the simplest solution of...
