if its that dangerous mark it "removal not allowed" and give a warning "breaks desktop". by keeping the entry users can see the component and why they have to keep it. remove it from the list people will ask you to add it.
users need to know that sometimes you have to keep the kitchen sink.
ahh good man, thats what i been using, good to know i havnt missed something :)
there are 2 different IE11 installers, i havnt checked version/build numbers though,
EIE11_EN-US_MCM_WIN7.exe
EIE11_EN-US_MCM_WIN764.exe
IE11-Windows6.1-x64-en-us.exe
IE11-Windows6.1-x86-en-us.exe
sysprep+capture, no headache at all . add net4.8/4.8.1 while you are at it. they will be fully integrated into the resulting captured wim and be able to integrate their updates.
nope. if someone asks in forum if anyone has sample-versionX.exe and they cant find it(or find it from a trusted source) then i will one drive or mediafire it. or if they need a file hash comparison i can check against my copy.
i wouldnt even bother testing hdd's because everyone knows they are slow compared to solid state drives.
know your hardware and accept any limitations.
meanwhile we are getting fewer and fewer sata ports. best motherboard i got for sata ports is an old A88x FM2+ with 8 onboard without an additional controller. for me thats 1 port for the os ssd, 3 ports for optical drives and 4 for storage hdds.
install.wim = 2.8gb is easily achievable on a captured wim after it has been cleaned(no component removals - just a clean up) and the install size is usually around 2.5 times the size of the install wim.
