Hi,

Bought a license last week and I've been loving it so far. I want to install the portable version on a thumb drive so I can work across OS installations on my own machine(s). My concern is about someone finding my thumb drive and using up activations on their devices. Is the license key protected in any way?

You're required to provide your registered e-mail for activations. Honestly, I haven't heard any stories about license theft. Except for a handful of people who learned the hard way not to share your registration code with a "friend", who uses them all up.

What I personally do is keep a copy of my NTLite order confirmation in my e-mail account. And then whenever I need it, just find the e-mail.

If you're concerned about re-installing NTLite on a test machine, you can backup the HW-locked license.dat file and restore it. This avoids the step of re-running the licensing setup.
