Play Red Dead Redemption 2

So what do you need to play this game?

First thing I noticed was Windows Media Player.

Launcher says as much. Don't know if there'll be anything else after that.
 
If you download from rockstargames, they always needed windows media player (GTA V had this issue)

If you download from steam media player is not needed....


you don't need anything else as far as i know
 
It's retarded from R* to lock the game launch behind usage of WMP. Which is probably only used in their Social Club.

I've tried everything but to no success. Tried also faking registry values, I don't know from where else the Launcher detect that WMP is or is not installed.

if u find where social club checks for wmp please inform me too. 7/24 open to that information.
 
I didn't bother any further than trying to fake the registry values for WMP install which did not help.

So I kept the WMP in the system. :-/
 
Thanks very much, for making this clear.

I've gotten the game, and haven't been able to get it to run. I was just about to install a modded Windows 10 OS, without Windows Media Player.
