KB2670838 wrong install order (Windows 7)

from the official Win7_Ult_SP1_English_COEM_x32.iso downloaded from Microsoft, KB2670838 has to be integrated FIRST before integrating Servicing Stack KB3125574


The current automatic order assigned by NTLITE is resulting in the need to reinstall several packages by Windows Update after OS installation.

After OS install, Windows Update is reporting 29 updates needed:

Now when you manualy integrate KB2670838 first:

After you remove components, regardless of the updates already integrated or not, Windows update will show you a list of updates that can't be installed due to a missing components.

As i can see, you have a too short list of updates, indeed, there are more required updates and the media components related are asking for some updates.

I have attached 2 text files related to files downloaded with WSUS and/or required by Windows update, the strings includes 1 or more letters to the right:

n - updates no replaced
nrw - not replaced, but replaced (superseeded) with (update number)
csu - cumulative security update
rb sqmr - replaced by Security Monthly Quality Rollup
nr .NET - not replaced, related to .NET

These are not download links, can be seen as my notes being shared.

You can use it to know the updates requested by Windows updates vanilla (without any update) or updated up to the release day of KB4096040.

Will need some days to check and see which updates are needed when monthly rollup is used.

This install order is given from the txt file that comes with the IE11 packages downloaded with WHdownloader:

IE11-Prerequisites
- If you choose to use rollup KB3125574 (Recommended), you only need:
KB2670838 / General (Prerequisite)
if you already installed KB3125574 before KB2670838, re-install it afterwards

Someone else already noticed and raised this "recommanded" order last year:

NTLite queed KB2670838 after KB3125574 in the list, so I need to ask; although KB2670838 is older than rollup can it replace some updated components in the rollup with older ones contains itself? If it is the case, need a change in the order maybe?.

Could it be an option to allow user to change the default install order maybe ?
( not only for this specific case, but in the future as we see that order is changing with new supersedence KB release )

I did plan on implementing the manual ordering, but it turns out over the years, it's not really needed.
If an issue is found, like you did in this case, it is fixed and burned in, so we all can benefit from it and not needing to read a guide on it.
Granted, it would allow for faster/easier testing when confirming an issue, but it's so rare - I think there was only 3 times the ordering needed to be corrected/expanded in the last 3 years.

In fact I've noticed this issue last year but until now I was manually integrating the KB that is mentioned as pre-requisite for IE11 integration (first using dism command and after doing 2 ntlite processes pass)

But it is better if everyone benefits from the right KB dependencies (it is becoming as complex than linux packages dependencies)
