Enhanced Storage Filter Driver

I usually do a lot of research on my own about stuff but this one for some reason is getting the best of me. It's in the "extra services" area of Ntlite and boots on startup.

Not entirely sure what it does and is also highlighted blue. Anyone shed some light onto this?

Enhanced Storage filter drivers can add new management features to disk volumes, things like volume-based encryption. It's known as a "filter", because it sits in the middle of the "layer cake" stack between the higher-level Windows services and lower-level kernel drivers.

Blue color because it belongs under the default Gaming template.

If you're not a hardcore IT pro running some expensive 3rd-party volume management or encryption software, you're not going to notice when it's missing from Windows.

Stopping this one from boot caused a blue screen error to happen as a heads up

Also edit......cannot restore it to boot properly in CMD/regedit. It shows it should be booting but for some reason causes blue screen and cannot get back into windows either through normal or safe mode. I would have just gone back and re enabled it in Ntlite but alas that is not going to work.

Just ended up purging the system and fresh installing the os. It was time since I was still on 22H2 .....time to reapply my present and getting my machine back to where it should.

I forgot how much ram is used on factory windows os compared to my Ntlite build.
