I am a newbie with NTLite, and I have been creating ISO images for Windows 10 and Windows 11 and everything has been working well. All of my installs have been New Installs.

I have a co-worker that wants to upgrade from Windows 10 LTSC to Windows 11

He has GigaBytes of data files all of which he will fully back-up before the update, but he wants a debloated and customized version of Windows 11.

Will the Windows 11 Install ISO that NTLite creates work for doing an upgrade from Windows 10 LTSC to Windows 11??

I know that there is a Windows 11 LTSC and I suggested that might be a better upgrade path. But I am not a Windows expert so I was hoping someone here could offer a suggestion

Thank you in advance

Your coworker may be better off upgrading from W10 LTSC directly to W11 LTSC. Even with a debloated W11 Pro, the whole point of running LTSC is you don't get feature changes over the lifetime of LTSC. It's super stable because all you get are security & bug fixes.

There's always been this question in the modding community: Which is better? Trying to add retail features (ie. MS Store for Game Pass support) to LTSC, or debloating Pro to get closer to LTSC?

In the end, it comes down to software support. Does his apps require normal Windows or not?

Thank you I thought so and that is what I am going to tell him he needs to do. All of his data files are Word, Excel and PNG & JPEG images and some text files, so should not be issue.

He does have several MS Store Apps so he may want MS Store, but there are better apps he can install.

Adding Store to LTSC isn't too difficult. You can download the Appx packages separately and integrate them into an image, or sideload on a live system. There's also the "wsreset -i" hack which installs Store on LTSC.

never heard of the wsreset -i hack. ok thank you very much I learned something new today
