Latest Windows 11 Cumulative Update is massive?

For image, I always use the 26100.1
Just with the integrated updates and removed the WinSxS leftovers (winsxs component), the WIM file is 6.40 GB (26200.8875)
Without the cleaning option

To recreate the .msu file without the IA files, I use the script "PSFX_MSU_5"

Thanks. I was able to find that base 24H2 image through UUPdump.

-July update - 4.9GB
-July update without AI components - 2.28GB

-24H2 base image - 4.16GB
-24H2 base image install.wim - 3.56GB

Added the July update, checkpoint update and the .NET cumulative update
-base image updated to 25H2 July - 6.99GB
-base image updated to 25H2 July install.wim - 6.28GB

Made with .NET 4.8 and 3.5 integrated.
-25H2 July from UUPdump - 9.87GB

So is this final image should functionally be the same as the slimmed one? Nothing has been removed and both images have the July cumulative updates for the OS and .NET. It's quite wild to think that there would be such a stark difference.

Also, what updates do you apply? As in, is there a difference between the checkpoint update for 24H2 versus 25H2? Same for the App Installer and various other packages?

@ least half the stuff in any Windows 11 image, I have no idea as to what it does, or why it's there? Only MS knows that ;)

I apply Checkpoint, EP, LCU and ndp481
Checkpoint is the same for 24h2 and 25h2

If you use the latest up-to-date ISO, it's the same as 26100.1 + Checkpoint + LCU + EP
However, there are some traces of older CUs in the latest ISO, which causes the size to increase over time.
We tested this with 24H2 and checkpoint, and I don't think MS has changed it since.

I assume LCU is latest cumulative update? What's EP?
