good grief :rolleyes:. its a laptop with a 12th gen cpu(and 8gb ram 256gb ssd) that was on a deal with £50 off its usual price making the total of £298 with free next day delivery. You no risten.

and EVR if i remember correctly.

officially it only supports w11 and ubuntu so i lucked out with w10 21h2 and the working igpu driver by choosing the 12th gen model.

had this problem this week when installing w10 on a new dell laptop. w10 setup reported missing driver but then this thread came to mind. looks like dell use Raid as the default setting but changed it to AHCI and setup was happy, made 2 of us. bloody hell those nvme 2230 drives are small :oops:

this s--t takes time and effort and 20+ test builds is not unusual. if it is getting to you walk away and take a break and come back to it with a refreshed brain.

Use vlc portable versions instead. go into the win32/win64 folders and use the .zip/ .7z versions.

at least its an incremental upgrade rather than a full on redesign like the win-raid change was, that was bloody awful :( still havnt got used to it but luckily i dont need to go there anymore.
