We need to be careful about our future overlords, these are their kids in development now.
Also it is a bit confusing even to a human, as part of RPC Locator name is RPC - and locator doesn't sound so legacy.
It's a better question why would Microsoft still ship it... maybe a big enterprise...
RPC core service is not RPC Locator, that is a completely different component.
The RPC Locator has provided no actual functionality since Windows Vista.
What is its important function?
The RPC Locator is a legacy Windows service that acts as a directory for RPC servers on a network - clients can query it to find servers by name instead of needing their exact addresses. It's essentially obsolete now, as modern Windows uses other discovery...
That feature was pointless (except on Windows 7), as Windows 10+ can select accent color for all, why would only NTLite have a different one.
What I need to fix is Accent color usage, it's not consistent depending on Windows Personalization - Colors toggles.
Your topic about titlebar should not be an accent color is a separate topic, even though it sounds like this one, we will continue that one on your side and it's already agreed on:

Yes, agreed, thank you.
There is Reset to current state in the toolbar, but that's for all entries, we need one, probably right-click or floating barely visible reset would be nicer.
It is marked with Placeholder on the right, will see about making it more visible.
Btw that component is not in the image, seems like Windows installs it Live only.
In my test it removes fine live with DISM method selected in the toolbar App removal mode.
Could be your DISM or app is stuck...
Thank you, will try to replicate and reply back.
The Optimize Appx limitation was confirmed and updated the description of it, but it wasn't what you reported.
Cannot confirm, it's removed in my tests.
Which means it's the placeholder.
Some components exist only on certain Windows versions due to being added by a cumulative update.
In this case it's for example Sysmon added in 26200.7922.
Tool lists these placeholders (in this case if 26100 or 26200 <...
Hi,
it was always like that, what was removed was Accent color, it now uses Windows accent color for uniformity with the rest.
Only where I shouldn't have removed it is Windows 7 and 8.1, are you using those or there is something else?
Thank you.
