Hey Guys,

before I start I don't finde the original offline xml anymore. Regular its stored directly on the Installationmedium but this this time not.
So yes I know maybe you can't help me without that and I have to cook a completely fresh Iso with NTlite and the September Patch but before I still wanna try it here. Maybe someone hasn an helpful idea :).

A few days ago I did a new Windows Installation with the official August Patch and everything was working fine.
Now after installing KB5065426 - 26100.6584 - I removed the Reinstallation and a Dism Cleaning with /StartComponentCleanup /resetbase.
After that I did a restart and wanna play some games but the MSI Afterburner won't start anymore. Just an empty tile. Than I thougth ok, maybe theres a problem with vcredist files and wanted to install via the script from abbodi https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/repack-visual-c-redistributable-runtimes-2025-06-18.76588/
The installes hangs also with the message Preparing Installation and thats it.

So I attached all files I have from the current installation but I think I already know the answer :P.

Thx in advance.

If you don't have a saved copy of the real preset, then recover the preset by following these steps:

1. Load your modified image in NTLite.
2. Preset / Save / Extract current image state -> new file
3. Unload image.
4. Load a clean 24H2 image.
5. Load the previously saved preset.
6. Preset / Save As -> final file

Please attach the final preset file as it contains your component removals. Most of the same details are in the NTLite.log, but they're written in German.

Thanky you garlin :)!

I will have a look tomorrow. It's already late here and bed's calling.

Since Windows 11 24H2 i don`t use any "cleanup" (DISM++ or NTlite) anymore. It always brings confusion, WU-errors or other unexpected errors.

Have you tried NTLite - Update Cleanup - DISM Compatible (not resetbase)?
To me it never caused issues, while resetbase is not recommended by Microsoft for a reason you mentioned.

FLCL, once you send us the extracted preset that garlin mentioned, you can Host Refresh to fix without the actual reinstall.
Btw double-check that you are not removing Task Scheduler, that is the only known Afterburner dependency.
Also as g-force mentioned, skip the Resetbase in the future, focus on Compatible cleanup.

Hi Nuhi, i`ll give it a try.

Thx for you reply Guys!

I'm sorry. There happend some unexpected things in my private life which're causing my delay.
Maybe I have time this night :)

Thx in advance.

My guess is Xbox or Xbox Game UI apps, because Afterburner wants to display FPS stats.

Hm, that would be the first time it would have problems with that because I always remove that stuff.

Funny behavior here.
I tried to install the vcredist again and sure it seems like the Installer is doing nothing. But in the end it worked but very very slowly. Arround 15 Minutes.
And than - magic appeard -Afterburner started without any problems.

I installed a new Amd Chipset Driver and again the Installer tooks really long - almost 20minutes to install.
Something is irretating the MSI installer...

<Feature enabled="no">CapFrameX</Feature> <- msi afterburner
<Feature enabled="no">VSS</Feature> <- msi installer
<c>systemrestore 'Systemwiederherstellung'</c> <- msi installer

With the new NTLite Update from yesterday I retry remove reinstalls and now it seems everything is working :).

Thx Nuhi!
