Hi everyone,

I hope you are all having a great day.

I was wondering if anyone knows what the AMD Radeon Software relies on.
Everything has been kept from the dependencies list and it looks like the app is opening as I can see the window come up. But then a second later the windows disappears... Wondering if any of you has had this problem and have a possible solution.

Thank you everyone

Hi

Maybe a component related to .Net (nearly or far)
We would need the preset (having removed personal information, license, etc...)

Not having an AMD, I have not encountered this problem.

Both AMD & NVIDIA Control Panel apps have no listed UWP dependencies. Typically they exit if no AMD or NVIDIA HW is detected.

Yes with Nvidia and Intel, the driver does not install (and the control panel) if compatible HW is not detected (but there is a message to indicate it)
Probably the same thing with AMD

Is it the driver (and Control Panel) installation window that opens and closes ?
Or are they installed and it is the Control Panel that opens and closes ?

With the 24h2, there is a need for a component to install the Nvidia and Intel drivers (which was not useful with the 23h2), but it is just to install it

Which component are you talking about? What specific 24H2 change is this? Do you have a test case to prove this point?

If I say it, it's because tests have been done...
Then nuhi did the necessary in NTLite (or not yet, not verified)

I would look in the "to do" archives to see what component it is, not the name in mind
During the 24h2 tests, around ten components were being "tested"

And this is not the only component to keep with the 24h2, compared to the 23h2 for the SAME USE
But the necessary has been done in NTLite
nuhi may have "omitted" some warning messages, I should check by the way :)

Every time you mention some vague NTLite issue, why can't you simply share the reported bug? How do users know they have the same problem?

What prevents the AMD, NVIDIA or Intel driver installer from working? My experience is all of the installers are normal Win32 apps, and they provision a UWP package for the Control Panel with a self-provided license XML.

The Control Panel apps while packaged as UWP apps are actually Win32 apps, so they don't have any UWP dependencies.

If you extracted the drivers outside of the installer and integrated them, it would not include the Control Panel. But the Appx package can be added under Updates. What specific 24H2 change broke this process?

Any "bugs/components (rather files needed)" found following my tests (or those of nuhi for some) are reported and tested "internally" (if we can call it that) and nuhi does the necessary

If we had to indicate all the modifications, bugs fixed, etc... in NTLite, following my tests with nuhi (not to mention other reports, which I don't test for the most part)
We would not be finished, and the main thing is that it is corrected, and if it is relevant, nuhi indicates it in the changelog

For the necessary component (it's not a bug) and the installation of the Intel and Nvidia Drivers, with 24h2, it "breaks" the installation of the driver (from the .exe) if missing, and nuhi must have put a warning message in the corresponding column (not verified and no time to look now)
But indicated in red in NTLite from memory, so a tiny part of users delete it I guess

And as already said, I no longer have the name in mind, need to watch
Or if he shares the preset, it will surely come back to me if present

Hi everyone, I appreciate you helping me investigate this matter.

I'm not at home at the moment to share the preset, but just wanted to say that it's on 23H2 not 24H2
Additionally, the dependencies are shown when slipstreaming an update into the installation. In that case, I had everything that the app depended on.

Check the Event Viewer logs, or C:\Program Files\AMD\atikmdag_dce.log if any errors are reported.
