Can I modify the files (like change the brandings, add more wallpaper/themes, etc.) in my Windows install?

Yes you can add brandings and wallpapers like Dell etc do, there is a thread around here somewhere about it, garlin may remember where it is.
We do not discuss patching to use 3rd party themes or any modding of ms files themselves.
NTLite cannot add custom files, you have to use either the $OEM$ folders method or add your required files to a mounted image/image folder.

I've changed the brandings in C:\Windows\Branding and add some wallpapers and it does save after saving the image, I'm gonna install the thing to test.

If you add a wallpaper to $OEM$\$$\web\wallpaper\img00.* it'll replace the default one.
