Can I upgrade to the new version for free after purchasing the home version?

You can update to a new version(including beta's) at anytime, that includes major build numbers, ie, from v2.x to v3x etc.

This tool's license is not separated by major versions, you can always update. It's separated by the newly added premium feature date.
While license will work as it always did, even on the latest versions of the tool, only features added after the expiration date will be limited until renewed (for example latest Win10 support for premium features).
