In the recent version of NTLite, I can't find the option where NTLite will clean out the temporary update files after it's done with them.

I believe the option I'm after is "Compatible Based," something like "Reset Based."

Does NTLite delete the files by default?

Hi,

they are automatically deleted, but with a caveat:
- if Smart Cache disabled on the Updates toolbar, it deletes on closing the tool
- if Smart Cache enabled, then deletes those not re-accessed within 7 days, good to not waste time decompressing the same thing over and over if used more than once
- also you can initiate cleanup yourself in Menu - Settings - Extracted Updates cache - Erase

So you mean the image of the OS won't be bloated.

Back then, I had to select "Compatible Base" or something similar so that the image will stay under 10GB.

Just can't seem to find the equivalent option, which is why I was asking. Apologies if it sounds stupid, but I am not that tech-savvy.

Yes.

EDIT: So even at Normal, the image won't be bloated with temporary files, right?

Correct, temporary files are never saved into the image.
Also update cleanup removes older versions of the Windows packages, Normal and ResetBase use DISM (Windows tool) to do so - a standard IT practice.

If some doc or tooltip is confusing and alludes that temporary files are saved into the image, please point me to it.
Thanks.
