the death of 7 and 8.1 is hardware dependant here. spinning debian Live from time to time, looking good.
 
the deciding factor is getting IDM working under WINE.

yep, its the best for me so far, Free Download Manager doesnt quite cut it :(. IDM, Thunderbird and Firefox(+me usual plugins) are my only 3 absofrickenlutely must haves on linux. if they work i'll jump ship. i could use debian Live but FF without plugins is bloody awful :mad: and no IDM :(

piggyback your presets here for the time being if you want until you decide what you want to do.

IDM on Windows is definitely the best. I remember seeing a very similar program on Linux but I don't remember the name and I haven't saved links :(

For me Linux is the future. I will migrate as soon as I have more time to become more familiar with the OS.

Windows 11 is even worse than Win10. I need Win10 for games and DX12 (some games require this). I have SSD and an i5 so Win10 runs satisfactorily well after lited :) so I'll stick with Win10 as long as possible. And on machines with hard disk I will use Win8.1 or Win7.

But personally I will dual boot Linux for everything except games and Win10 for games :)

move your preset here and just edit that post when you have new ones, i wont have to keep changing the link in post no1 then.
