Create a desktop shortcut to change the screen resolution to a fixed value like 800x600?

Download nircmd.exe and create a desktop shortcut:

C:\folder\path\nircmd.exe setdisplay 800 600 24

Where 24 is the color depth.

On my main machine it works, on the vm using vmware it does not xP not even when using a cmd directly.

EDIT:

Ok, I got it working on the virtual machine!

Thank you very much. Virtual machine only supports 32 color depth.

It's about resolution on HW - dosn't matter if it's WM.
