Does the KB5089549 update block write access to the SearchSettings registry key?

After updating kb5089549, is the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SearchSettings blocked from being written to? Attempting to create a key or value under it results in a pop-up error indicating that it cannot be written.

Do you have UCPD (User Choice Protection Driver) installed and enabled? It may be UCPD is blocking write access.

Thanks, it was the issue with that thing. After deleting it, everything is fine.

Just remember "User Choice" is misnamed by MS, it prevents the user from making their own choices!
