Unlike the dead RT7 Lite where the driver list was in a form with a list of manufactures of the drivers for the different types of hardware, with NTLite, all there are only a single .inf file with no reference to a manufacture. How can one tell what's what? If I wanted to remove certain manufactures in certain categories, hoe can that be accomplished?

Example; under Printers, there is only 1 .inf file. There are probably a dozen of manufactures of printers. o_O

Unlike the dead RT7 Lite where...

You need to look closer, if there is an .inf file for devices supporting many brands, that driver is provided by microsoft, example:
msmouse.inf support many mice and touchscreen brands, also input.inf
monitor.inf support many monitors brands

Driver list goes:
--Brand | file name.inf
----device name supported

That is microsoft's.

The manufacturer is written on the left, see screenshot below. How does your look like?
Looks like that, BUT;
1. MS is not a hardware manufacture, though they may put their names on certain items,
2. Those MS entries are 'core' drivers are they not? One actual 'driver' can not support multiple models, nor multiple machines, especially printers. Between HP & Canon for example, I'd bet there are over 200 different models in the past 10 years. I choose Printers for the example, but most other hardware types would apply including specific video packages.
3. The only exception under drivers seems to be "Storage Controllers" where a actual manufactures name is listed.

I'm not talking about a generic VGA, mouse, keyboard or base USB drivers. I'm referring to what is shown in the attachment.

Lastly, there is no way of knowing just how large those files associated with those inf files are either. If the purpose is to reduce the size of this bloated O/S, knowing the size of specific entries would help sway which ones to remove or leave. ;)

I wouldnt worry because ms files are quite small, compare that to a w10 dch igpu driver for i3 8300, over 1GB. :eek:
