Just add the file to the Post-setup page as described earlier:
Done that, didn't even know this functionality existed.....and since we are here I've got to ask... can you do this with folders ? Transfer them into the image using post setup ?

Yes, you can now add folders on the Post-setup page (hover Add - Directory), and choose on the right if you want it put to ISO ($OEM$) or Image (WIM).
Read tooltips on hover what is what in the row options.
All automatic, while our veterans still recommend manual way :) My fault, documentation is lagging at this point.

because using the $OEM$ method you can add program updates and new additions without having to load/mount the wim everytime however if you want to add stuff like wallpapers user account pictures and old programs that havnt been updated in years then add them to the Post Setup page. i dont like to keep loading/unloading multiple times.

No, it's because I'm still more efficient with a CMD shell using $OEM$, compared to walking thru the UI.

While the UI makes it easy for light work like adding a single file or a folder, it's not polished. For example: NTLite cannot map a target directory to a literal pathname.
ie. "C:\Other\Files" -> NTLite translates to "\C:\Other\Files". "D:\Files" -> NTLite translates to "\D:\Files"
