Emoji search functionality missing - possibly due to removed Language Packs

Hi everyone,

Let me say I love NT Lite. Thank you for your hard work on this amazing tool.

I have an issue - I recently did a customized/lightweight install of W11 24H2 and now find myself unable to search for emojis (or search at all) from within the
Code:
Windows Key + .
popup:

As you can see, it thinks basic typing is missing. However, these are my language settings:

As you can see, my region and location is set to New Zealand (which I believe secretly uses part of the en-GB language, and not just en-NZ like you would expect it to - it also may be a 'non unicode' language). That might explain why en-GB is listed there even though it isn't installed as a keyboard.

However, my keyboards, input language, and display language are strictly set to US English, as you can see. Except for the extra Japanese keyboard:

....going back to the very first error prompt shown at the top, it says I need to install Basic Typing. However as you can see, I do already have that installed for my chosen display/input language (US). When switching to Japanese, the search function works! And also when adding a new keyboard and setting that as default, it seems to work.

However, I don't want to set a new keyboard. I already have two in the Keyboard switcher, and that's already enough.

On a previous installation, I don't recall having this issue. I am wondering - maybe - if I caused this myself by doing this during NTLITE customization:

^that's a screengrab from a youtube video, not mine, but in my installation I also removed everything except US English and IME for Japanese.

So to come to the crux of the issue... is there any way for me to restore emoji search functionality without having to add a new keyboard? Does anyone know exactly what the issue might be? Is it possible to maybe re-add just the necessary language components without adding an entire language layout/keyboard?

I've never done this type of setup before.

But this article might provide a clue, it appears that re-installing one of the language packs (maybe English-GB?) can restore emoji search:
