Error Permission with version 8160

Created ISO with 8160 and installed (as always) in VM perfectly.
When transferring files to the VM I get the following message: "cannot scan local directory. You might not have permission to perform the operation. Canceling the file copy operation"

Reproduced the same ISO (same preset) with 8152 this error does not appear and the copy operation is successful (as it should be).

With certainty I can say that this problem is a bug of version 8160 since, with the same preset, the error does not appear with version 8152. I would have expected a minimum of attention to the highlighted problem ...

Hi,

you'll find nowhere in the world a company that responds to forum topics within 24 hours.
Thanks for your email pointing me to this.

Now, as far as I understood the report, if something is done, that image when installed in VMWare, VMWare Tools installed, cannot copy files from host to guest?

If so, please attach or send me your preset to try, and I'll find the dependency.

Thanks.

I never demanded the resolution of the problem. I would have simply contented myself with knowing if the problem had been "noticed" and if someone was analyzing it.
Then the resolution of the same will happen when it is and when you developers can...
I repeat that with the same preset and "accessories" but with the 8157 version (always from scratch) the error does not show up.

Thank you

[edit, nuhi: thx for preset]

I also wanted to point out this inconsistency:

Settings / Privacy / Let apps on user's other devices open apps and continue experiences on this device -> Disabled

I believe that during processing (export WIM) it is not set since reloading the processed image and the preset is shown in bold (as if it were a novelty).
Thank you

OK, tried your preset and confirmed the inability to drag and drop from desktop to VM.

I thought I figured it out, it was due to the service disabling of those two services, and it will probably be fine if you don't disable them.
But if I disable them on their own, it works, so I need to investigate this further, continuing tomorrow.

Thanks, and for the tweak UI report.

Honestly (I love NTLITE that has allowed me MANY things ...) I'm sorry I was "right".

For the resolution ... take it easy ... when you have time. The important thing is to have understood that there was still a problem.

Thank you for what you do for all of us and I look forward to seeing you.

OK, figured out that my issue in this test was the automation of VMWare tools install, it required an additional reboot.
Now your preset is not breaking drag and drop.
Note that I never saw your error prompt, for me it would just silently not copy it.

OK now that weirdness is out of the way, let's start over.

- I haven't added the files and scripts you also added, seem not dangerous. But mentioning if by some crazy chance it's something around that, maybe skip them once.

- Check this and this out, there are more results like it.

- Also, try not disabling DiagTrack (client telemetry) service, use the Settings - Telemetry option instead, set it to Security/Disable, there are some quirks with disabling the service in older Windows.

- Make sure that the dragged files are on the host desktop, selected, before dragging them.

- Try the NTLite - Post-setup - machine - Add - Template - VMWare Tools to automatically install it with the guest, just remember to reboot once more after setup.

Goes without saying I don't see any difference in 8152 and 8160 in this regard.

Let me know how it goes with these tips.

Ok nuhi tomorrow I'll try to test what you suggested and I'll let you know.
I had also searched / found one of the 2 links but I honestly did not believe it could concern me...
Remember too instead (calmly...) that other problem that I had reported and Thanks again

Ok works fine with a PC reboot (VMware Tools post install installation).
I tried to insert Tools in the image but not like that
1) Post-setup - machine - Add - Template - VMWare Tools (C: \ PROGRAM Files (x86) \ VMware \ VMware Workstation \ windows.iso. Setup64.exe / s / v "/ qn reboot = r")
ne so (extract setup64.exe from windows.iso)
2) Post-setup - machine - Add - File C: \ PROGRAM Files (x86) \ VMware \ VMware Workstation \ setup64.exe / s / v "/ qn reboot = r"

VMWare Tools is installed during the installation of S.O.

But it doesn't matter, the important thing is that that error no longer appears.

Thanks for the suggestions

OK.

The tweak UI report, it is written down, currently (few days) in the middle of something, and have a few urgent ones to check on, then we see, maybe in a week.
