error when turn some win7 feature on

Hi,

i get this error when try to enable some features on windows 7, maybe someone know what cause it, iam attach my preset, iam use latest ntlite version.

The smaller size preset is removing needed components, make sure to protect them in compatibility option.

More than this could be needed:
Microsoft Data Access Components
Windows Management Instrumentation
Windows Component Database
Windows Update

Update. problem still exists even iam check recomended and other stuff in compatibility option .

Getting Features Removal to work from Windows (at least Win7) is tricky. I fought with it for a long time.

IIRC, you need to leave in a lot of related Features that aren't intuitively obvious in order for Windows' Feature Removal to work.

In other words, you need to leave in enough sub-components so that Windows can remove them when it tries to remove Features.

I know I was able to remove XPS stuff using NTLite and that didn't prevent Windows Features Removal from working.
 
If it makes anyone feel better dism package removal on a live running system breaks Features too, i tried, it broke. Its why i prefer liting to dism package removals on windows 7.
 
maszd I just used Windows Features Removal to Remove IE8, Web Print Client and DVD Maker from Win7 64 H.P. Attached is my Preset. You can use WinMerge to compare it to yours. Maybe from there you can figure out what you need to leave in so that Windows Feature Remover is happy.

I'm not at my desktop now.

Credit goes to Clanger for that tweak. It's in one of her forums on this site. So you can search for it here.

Alternatively I'm sure you can find it on the web.
 
I either download a reggy file from somewhere, harvest it from a tweaker program or create it from a guide. Edit my reggies in the reg file pack and you may well see its source. What ones i create is open to debate really. i just share what i find useful. Some of the reg files are options inside ntlite but i share them because some users may like to add them to their own custom post setup routines using untouched iso's or to use on running systems.

Presets are always my own work from start to finish. :)

I hardy use Turn features on or off, i did with xp, with 7 upwards i never have to enable something so if features breaks it isnt a biggy. After removing my usual candidates i turn to the Features page because if it isnt enabled then you probably wont need it. Most features are easy to find on the Components page but some you need to look at the components notes to find them. I just switch between the 2 pages in ntlite until the suckers are greyed out in features. I have much simpler needs than many and dont get into trouble because i will do live removals in small groups of say 4 max, that makes it easy to pin down a culprit. If its ok to remove live then it goes into the current image xml.
