Final Size Differences?

Hi, long time fan first time poster!

When building from a 7 source, I notice the final install media size to be different depending on if I use a 7 host or a 8.1 host. The 8.1 host is creating slightly smaller install sizes. Also, build time is much quicker on 8.1. Is this down to different DISM versions? Better compression used? Am I getting any benefits other than the few MB's in final size? Thanks!
 
Never tested this, please post the result if u find anything interesting, but since on real machine u can't choose anything it shouldn't matter
 
Prolly just due to the differences in each version of dism.
