This is a new one for GamerOS, I haven't seen anyone use PPPOE in a while...

Just an educated guess, but remove these lines from your preset:

                <c>Microsoft.CredDialogHost 'Credential Dialog'</c>
                <c>vpn 'Virtual Private Network (VPN) support'</c>

I tried the above with no luck, still same issue, what else would u recommend ?
 
Yes. Restore the Network and Sharing Center. I had to find a guide on adding broadband PPPOE, to see what the steps were.

Sure thing, I'll give it a shot. So this should prevent the freezing when updating? Or the freezing at the Accounts > Sign-in Options?
 
I don't have a PPPOE setup to replicate the problem. The rest of us have normal cable modems.

Some clarification is probably needed for a solution. Do you mean an actual dial up modem connection, like 56k from 30 years ago, where it makes the classic modem sounds as it dials and is mostly handled in Windows, or are we talking about PPPoE dsl fiber connection that is mostly handled in a router and is a high speed *broadband* line unlike *dial up* which is a low speed line.

Also, anyone using the ps1 script included with the GamerOS is almost assuredly running on a crippled network (I lost 90% bandwidth testing it), so undo those tweaks and see if things return to normal. I documented that issue (link) in more detail previously.

Broadband PPPOE, if you read most of the online guides, is done through the Network and Sharing Center control panel. Apparently, it's still a major thing if your home fiber connection doesn't terminate with a conventional router.

That didnt work either, i got it working now anyway, i spent a whole day trying to disable / enable stuff till i figured it out lol

Hey man, thanks for your reply and ive already checked your thread regarding reg editing, very mint and excellent work.

Regarding the dial up question, its called pppoe broadband dial up, not the old 56kb modem dial up haha, i have fiber optic wired to my house connected to my isp via pppoe broadband internet

What i wanted to do is shorten the routing for less latency/mess inside my house, it was: fiber optic > onu/epon > router > my pc now its: fiber optic > onu > my pc

Less routing, this way i could ditch the router and connect directly to my ISP.
 
Jokes aside, Thank you Garlin and hellbovine for all the time and hard work that you guys put towards ntlite, I spent more than 30 hours to get one service working... and thats only one thing out of thousands... I cant imagine the time you guys spent to get ntlite to the point where it is now, let alone all the support on this forums and keeping up with people support.
The least thing we can do is purchase a subscription each year.

Would you mind posting your PPPOE solution so it can be searchable for others please? That will aid helpers too, since we can try to figure out what's going on under the hood for whatever component was the culprit, for future problems, and it may improve the NTLite compatibility options.
 
I found and removed these two new components on W11 23H2 (host refresh):
  • Start Experiences (InboxApp)
  • Windows Copilot (InboxApp)
and Settings and UWP apps became completely dysfunctional. Host refreshing with Start Experiences re-enabled Settings but Windows Copilot could not revive the UWP apps.
