How do I delete the Windows Recovery environment?

See if there is no compatibility checked in Compatibility (Windows Setup and Deployment and Recommended)

This is normal, your preset does not remove this component
Code:
<c>winrewim 'Windows Recovery (WinRE) - winre.wim'</c>

It's weird, when I apply your preset on a full image, I can uncheck the compatibility and delete the component

Note sure for these options, related to update and App
I have Custom and DISM +

Does this well do the job?
The WinRE is to be removed from the Components page.
Note that Windows 11 24H2 requires it for normal setup, be sure to enable Boot/Setup-Legacy in the Settings as well, or setup will fail without WinRE.wim.

Also to unlock WinRE removal, disable Components - toolbar Compatibility - Windows Setup protection.
Will improve that to reflect if Legacy setup is enabled to not be needed to disable protection.

Let me know how it goes and where did you get stuck finding and removing WinRE.

His compatibility is still checked, that grayed out icon means the sub-items are unchecked, just needs to click on it once or twice to uncheck.

Yes but he wouldn't be able to uncheck it, it seems
