How to re-enable Windows search?

Is there a way to re-enable this component without re-installing windows? I had removed it but didn't realize outlook needs it. It comes up with this message "search isn't optimized because search service is not installed"
 
If you've removed a component (and not a Feature on Demand) then a re-install is required. If you have a licensed copy of NTLite, you can do a Host Refresh using a clean ISO and restore a previously removed component. It's basically a customized repair reinstall.

Is there a guide on host refresh? Looks like I choose my current iso, and then the preset I used. Do I check the box for manual adjustments before install, will that give me the option to add back search? Do I run this on a separate pc and generate the iso, or run NT lite directly on the pc I'm trying to fix search with.
 
You need an unedited version of the ISO, preferably with the same Windows update level as the source. Load the previous preset as a starting point, and then you're allowed to make selection changes before starting the refresh.

This has to be done on the PC where the ISO was already installed, so it does require NTLite to be locally installed and activated to work.
 
Ok, install NT lite on affected system with clean ISO. Load previous preset, then check manual adjustment. Then adjust the option for windows search?
 
Where do I find the option to add back Windows search? I checked manual adjustment and says waiting for manual continuation from the apply page.
 
If you can't find it, a simpler way is to make a copy of your original preset file and edit it in NotePad.

Remove this line:
Code: 
                <c>search 'Windows Search'</c>

Load this modified preset, before applying changes.
