Like in the old nlite, i think it would be nice to have something like a green/yellow ball or something that indicates when a category has been modified or not. (by category i mean the left lists like components, features, settings, services, etc)

Did you mean, detect a source modified previously?
That would be not easy to do on sources modified with third party tools.

When components (at least) are removed, i think there is a yellow dot.

That page comes immediately after the preset page, you can quickly see a task group, i agree with fishy. :)

The green and yellow dots tell us when a source is detected as previously modified or not and could lead to errors (or not) and is what i understand to fishingfish.

You mean like this? View attachment 418 nLite may be old but it set a standard of how to do things right :).

Yes, I meant exactly that and this is what came to mind when I wrote this post. Just indicate if you modified it in the current session, no need to track back the full changelog, that would be a huge amount of work and maybe impossible.

@fishingfish, yeah I thought about it, but then realized there is the Apply page preview with all the tasks, would be kinda duplicating the same thing.
Or if you can convince me it's useful, I'm listening. Thanks.

Do you mean to mark or highlight a page where changes has been while you are in a page other than Apply?

Can't find a screenshot, basically imagine a number on each button of the left navigation list indicating how many tasks are pending on it.
For example you uncheck 3 components, it states Components [3]
Along those lines.

Then I'm saying on the Apply page it already states Remove - Components (3) and lists them.
Only when it is useful is when you are on some other page than Apply, would have better overview.

For that I was thinking about moving the Apply Preview list outside of the pages, maybe floating or always on the right, still not work the space taken by it, especially on smaller resolutions and might look gimicky.

I took a grab of a window that is around 4:3, Its very tightly packed in there but still workable. There wont be that many on a 4:3 screen anyway.

If you were going to use an indicator of loaded tasks you could simply use a star or # next to the task category, it doesnt have to look like a Maceys Day parade :D.

It also doesnt have to NOT look like a parade.

About it being useful, even with those indicators at the last page, its much more easily to just check directly by looking at the category. If it doesnt take much time I think it would be useful. If it takes more than half hour then better leave it.
