Pretty much title. Is it a relict of old time or still needed maybe hiddenly by some system files or can it be safely removed?

Thanks!

While you may believe COM+ components are unnecessary, some of your current or future apps might require it. As an API, the libraries barely take up any disk space and it's not a running service.

For a licensed NTLite user, you can perform a Host Refresh and reinstall it on a live system. But I would just leave installed, instead of possibly wasting hours trying to figure out if removing COM+ libraries broke my apps.
