Is there a way to abort the installation process if it's not working?

I will soon be making my custom NTLite install disc. I've used the program with Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 with no installation problems at all. Very smooth installation. But now I'm on a new machine. I'm hoping the installation process again goes smoothly.

My question is if I sense that something is going wrong, or the installation process seems to be getting stuck, or I'm getting an error message, is there a way to abort the installation process?

I will have already made a backup image of the current state of my machine using Acronis True Image, plus I will have a bootable rescue disk so I should be able to restore my computer back.

Also how do you reboot a laptop? My desktop computer had a reboot button but I don't think laptops do.

No. Windows install doesn't have a convenient landing zone when an error occurs. If you're lucky, there's an on-screen message or dialog explaining why Windows can't finish. Otherwise it might be frozen behind a "splash screen".

Hold down the power button, long enough until the BIOS turns the laptop off. Same as a desktop PC.

Most install failures are caused by removing mandatory components (which are usually protected from removal by NTLite's Compatibility mode), or having Post-Setup commands which aren't run in silent (unattended) mode. The installer may be waiting for your input, but it's unreachable behind the splash screen.
