Keep "Reset this PC" functioning?

When searching around for answers that don't return with results that seem relevant, like to this question, try using Google and Boolean logic in order to do a more accurate search, by typing the following exactly as shown, including the quotes: "Reset this PC" site:ntlite.com

It returns with a dozen responses, including a thread where Nuhi solves this problem for someone else (link). A clean install is always the best and preferred method if that option is available though, rather than any kind of reset, rollback, or clone, because it solves countless issues and is the single most effective way of fixing a broken machine with the least amount of time and effort.

Reset this PC requires you to keep the System Reset for Windows & Windows Recovery components, and not remove the WinSxS files. You can perform a DISM cleanup or ResetBase on the image, but WinSxS files need to be present.

What it basically does is boot into Recovery, and perform an extended DISM repair operation. Newer updates now allow Windows to download files from online servers, in case your local file copies are corrupted. Obviously that's much slower depending on your network speed.

My image already have those components preserved including WinSxS but I still can't get the "Reset this PC" to work at all.

When using the feature it will start preparing and then reboot but ends up in the recovery menu and then does nothing, with no option to proceed with any restore.
Here's a video of it all: https://share.cleanshot.com/0J4YNJ8J4ZSXdklSDSqx - at 2:45 it begins the reboot and just ends up in the recovery menu and that's it.
if I then shut down the machine and restart it, I get this message upon logging in: https://share.cleanshot.com/K70YNh2lPPshKlF4Gj9r

Any solution? I can provide preset if you need it.

Sharing the preset is the best way to check out your configs. Don't forget to remove any user passwords, or license key.

I don't see anything wrong in the preset.

When you get this type of error, one of two problems is happening:
- possible WinSxS corruption, but this is less likely since you're not cleaning up WinSxS
- possible WinRE corruption

I notice you're using ProxMox, does installing a clean ISO exhibit the same problems as the modded one?
