Since the release of Win11_25H2_x64_v2 it appears as if the component removal of "Live captions" and "Voice access" (under accessibility via start bar) no longer seems to work. I am not sure if it is a function of the new ISO or perhaps a new ntlite version. Anyone else having the same problem? Thanks

These components delete directories/files in the Windows\SystemApps directory (Client.Core or CBS, I don't remember which)
No problem for me

I tried multiple times, and without fail, live captions and voice access applications still show up in the application list via start menu (under "accessibility') and they are not just short cuts, with each application launching and working.

Take a screenshot of the remaining components on your Windows installation (just the System Apps part) to see the remaining components

Ok and an screen of NTLite (Components page, and System Apps)
And content of MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS and MicrosoftWindows.Client.Core directory

Okay, you're keeping WFE Core (MicrosoftWindows.Client.Core) for "Live captions" it seems
And for "Voice access" you're keeping WFE - Voice ? Have you tried removing it ?

In an 26100.1 image, "Live captions" is separated if I remember correctly, but not in Live it seems.
Or the components are still linked to WFE - Core, but I'm removing it (only the necessary and useful files are kept), so I couldn't say.

I'm going to test with an image and see if the unchecked components (they are separate) delete the files or not.

EDIT : I tested it and indeed, these components do not delete the files, have to remove "WFE - Core" component

yah, removing the components no longer works, though i swear it did only a few months ago, but perhaps i lost track of which windows build i was modifying. I am going to try removing Windows feature experience pack - core, does start menu/ taskbar still retain basic functionality after removing it?

The taskbar works, I don't know about the Start Menu, I don't use the Windows one.

nuhi will look into those components.

medizin It should be fine with the latest version
Thank you and nuhi so much for your help, works like a charm now- thankful to support solid software ran by such prudent people.

for anyone heavily de-bloating system, disabling "Windows foundation experience - core" doesn't seem to obviously impact the start menu or taskbar with neither seeming to be negatively impacted at all, this also had the effect of unregistering the live captions and voiceacess (albeit not deleting their shortcuts or their binaries), if these are your only goals the updated version of ntlite now cleanly and completely deals with the issue of stripping the voiceaccess and live captions components via their discrete options in the components section. Just know if you share the goal of extreme debloating you can feel fairly confident that removing WFE core does not ruin basic functionality!

Thanks again!
