Most updates being skipped when integrating Win 8.1?

Experimenting with Windows 8.1.

NTlite's update downloader tool downloaded 122 updates. It added all 122 without flagging any as redundant or conflicting. But then when I told it to do the integration, it skipped all but about 20. The log doesn't provide a clue at to why, unless "cixfda 13" is some kind of cryptic error message.

Is this normal? As best I can tell from the SHA-1 value, I'm using an original 8.1 ISO, not a later one with some updates already included. When I installed the updated ISO, windows update found scads of missing updates, so it's not that they were already there and didn't need to be integrated.

Attaching the NTlite log.

Whether you're using NTLite or not, DISM requires a W8.1 or later Windows host in order to add Updates to a 8.1 image. You're on W7 SP1.
This is an absolute requirement, and the same applies for W10 or 11 images requiring a W10 host.

Without an 8.1 host, you can do other things like remove components but no updates. Your options are either install a dual-boot 8.1 system, or run NTLite inside a VMware or VirtualBox VM.

A VM will run much slower than native speed, but since 8.1 is EOL'ed you will only need to perform this task once.

Save the updated ISO for reference, so you don't have to start over from scratch to redo a custom image.

Ah, OK.

It would be nice if the program tells you that instead of just silently failing to integrate the updates.

I recall older versions of NTLite did make this explicit warning on the Apply page, not sure if that feature is still present.
