Hi everyone,
1. Recently, I've been trying to set up Java. But every time, after I double clicked the setup pack, I got a message saying "No apps are installed to open this type of link (res)'. When i install microsoft edge, the browser starts up automatically after this message , but Java installer doesn't work.
2. When hit options on keyboard layout i get a message - SystemSettings.exe - System Error - The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this applicatio. This overrun could potentially allow a malicious user to gain control of this applicatio.

OS is win 10 pro, and i used "Lite" template as base to add/remove components. Can you advice how to fix it?
Regards,

Lite template by itself shouldn't cause these problems. Can you post your preset (after removing any user passwords or license key)?

Don't remove Client.CBS, that will break your desktop and System Settings. I'm not sure about Java, how are you installing it (which method)?

hi, thanx for the advice, will try it later. I install java form java.com - manually, after windows install.

You should be using the Java offline (not web setup) installer.

You removed Edge, so the Java installer's trying to associate URL:RES with an app and fails.

yep, adding windows features pack (Client.Cbs) did the trick, now it works - java web install and java offline installer, editing keyboard layouts etc.
Current install is also with Edge removed.
Thanx for the help!

I am not sure if i can post here, but a new problem pop-up. When i try to install office C2R a long mesage about - c++ Assertion failed, jit must be enabled... shows up. Did i brake some dependencies? Already installed vc++ from 2005 to the last one, but the installer doesn't want to start, just closing. When try to install ms office C2R from iso file it works.

Someone mentioned the C2Run log is under C:\Windows\Temp, as [hostname]*.log
