Using the attached preset, I can't seem to print, even though "Printing" compatibility is selected:

Also, I can't add more than 5 post-setup "after logon" autorun entries, as if I try to add more the popup does nothing:

Any help?

Print to PDF is an optional Feature, so you need to keep this component in order to enable it.
Code:
                <c>sourcessxsdir 'Manual feature repository'</c>

You wrote "similar issue", when the original problem was about "Print to PDF". If you own a different printer, this may not solve your problem. What type of connection is the printer using?

I've seen several people have this problem with "MS Print To PDF" since .3915 and .4061 (with a full Windows but with a different error, maybe not the same thing)
Their solution so far has been to install another software (like "PDFCreator")

Its a TCP (technically IPP/WebServices) printer, that the host sees and connects to fine. Also, scanning from the same devices works fine. But when I try to print to it, it seems like it just disappears and never hits the printer queue. I can't imagine it is one of these but maybe? I can't see what else might be doing it

<c>ndu 'Network Data Usage Monitoring Driver'</c>
<c>nettopology 'Link-Layer Topology Discovery protocol (LLTD)'</c>

LLTD is used for Network Discovery, but you can directly connect to a printer if you know its IP address. You might need Edge (Legacy) since some apps will use the web processing library was part of old IE11.

I'll try legacy edge, this is all direct from the OS and not through any 3rd party app. Thanks!

If you own a printer and install their software aka driver - it should solve the problem.

thanks. I tried that first, and it didn't work. It is as if clicking the print button initiates a process that somehow doesn't get notified; I know thats not a technical description. But it certainly doesn't give any error, it seems to just not pass it onto the printer subsystem in the host.

installing the driver from windows didn't work, nor did downloading their driver installer from their website work, but oddly enough, installing their full software package, full of cruft, did work. not ideal, but a project for another time.

garlin, thanks! Interestingly, it doesn't appear like you need internet printing to print over a wireless network. I tried uninstalling all the crufty OEM software package (using revo, tried really getting rid of it), and then turned OFF "Internet Printing" feature, and rebooted and added printer back from normal windows "printers and scanners", and then oddly, the printer still worked again, even with internet printing off. Maybe that is only for printing behind NAT?

francis11 , thanks also! You think I need windows reader for printing? Like maybe somehow that windows component was added back in when I installed the OEM printer package?

Nope - start over and load your image again.
And keep PDF viewer as it work from internet aka browser.

its working fine now, when i have some free time I'll revisit it for sure. Thanks for all the help

Now when I try to install a printer, It can't detect it automatically.

When I select "My printer is a little older, it detects it. However, when I select "Microsoft PWG Raster Class" driver and click next, I get:

When I try to add it manually it as a WSD device, I get:

Attached is the configuration .

Still get the error. :(

Turns out the ESC/P-R driver gets removed, because if I run NTlite after adding the printer it says the driver cannot be found after restart, while the status changes to "Not available."

I tried doing a driver backup and manually adding the pinrter, still the same error. I think it could have something to do with the computer device:

Any suggestions? Are there further components that I need to keep, and/or could it be an NTlite bug?
