"Save changes to the image" progress bar reaches 53% then gets back to zero

W7 doesn't support being installed in ESD format, unless you're using W8 or higher ISO to install the image.

Does the conversion never finish? What happens when you try this without converting to ESD?

Hello mate ! first of all thanks for replying too fast, actually even when i dont use ESD format it does the same bro :(( i saw alot of people using esd formats on windows 7 and according to them, it actually works for them but i will try again and inform u <3

NTLite or other image modding tools can convert any image to ESD compression. It's simply a storage format to them.

The native W7 Setup has no support for ESD, since that was introduced in W8. For a single-edition ISO you're spending more time in compression than you're really gaining back on ISO size, since most USB drives are today larger than 4 GB.

If your W7 ISO had more editions, it might be worth the extra effort.

same problem, i didnt use ESD compression

Do you have real-time security scanning enabled? When processing stalls it's because the AV is checking every staging file as its written.

just gives me an iso, but i dont know if it deleted the stuff i wanted to customize or nah tbh

Those manifests have nothing to do with MSE. There's many internal W7 components labeled "Security" which relate to normal Windows security features.

Let's back up. You reported it takes a long time to process an image.

I replied it can be two factors: MSE (Defender) or another 3rd-party security product inspecting every file and dramatically slowing everything down, and/or using ESD compression which is highly CPU intensive. Disabling real-time scanning, and not using ESD compression will speed up processing in most cases.

After you have made an ISO, W7 Setup doesn't natively support ESD format. To use W7 ESD images, you need to borrow a W8.1 or W10/11 ISO to install the ESD image. NTLite allows you to choose ESD format, because some users actually do this trick of using another ISO. In your case, keep it simple and just forget about ESD.

i swear to god i do not have any anti viruses nor microsoft essential or defender !! im using a modified version of windows 7 that has nothing and No programs on it it has no microsoft products on, plus im not using the ESD compression anymore as i said up already, it booted the ISO file but it changed nothing from the files i deleted/ disabled, it's just like the stock version of windows which means there's a problem in the program or in something else, i do not have even any 3rd party security products, not even single one. please find a solution for me, thanks

View attachment 12848That image is from the custom iso i have made without the ESD compression, the iso itself works and the operating system itself works, but the stuff i deleted is still there, such as windows defender, it's still here tho i deleted and disabled it, so it means something is interfering with the progress bar made it stuck on 53% then got back to zero, bcz its not the first time actually i have that problem for like 2 months maybe ? like 2 months i guess and it remains unsolved untill i decided to post on fourm today, hoping i find a solution

Can you give us the ntlite.log file and preset created at the end of the process
By deleting personal data from the preset (license key, etc.)

I indicated your problem to nuhi, in case it is an NTLite related issue
I had a similar problem with another "process" but that was a long time ago

Seems to be a drive space issue - as the mounted NTL image is using far more space than avaible when working with extracting packages for removing subcomponents.
Minimum should be at least 16 GB.

But normally there is an error message popup for disk space
There is one if this is the case when integrating the updates (more disk space used)

Notized it before i ran out of diskspace - and no error. NTL just hang!
