Hey nuhi,
I dont know if there is a reason why this is how it is but anyway.
The packages which can be removed, i mean on the Updates Tab, is there a reason why we cant select the packages to be removed?
I mean its pretty annoying to able only "select" one package to remove, then waiting, removing,....
I know manyy cant be removed here but its still possible to remove many of the OnDemand Packages like all the drivers.

And the other thing, i just came across the unattanded generator.
There are many interesting ones which would be nice to have also in NTLite, for example:Disable 8.3 file names, Disable Windows Defender, Skip integrity check when appyling image, Do not update Last Access Time stamp, Prevent device encryption Audit process creation events and more.
And also some of the sample Scripts which u can take a look. And of course the Hardware Checks which Windows does
I would post later here some Tweaks for better Latency
I hope its okay to write the Link here.

Well, thats anything for now.

I never thought that this project or better u after more then may 20 years didnt stop of such project.
Dont want to tell my real nickname from before, but we worked long time before together, even before nlite in msfn board :)

Hey,

that existing updates list on the Packages page should be redone, it was an after-thought which to list there in the first place.
Then updates got changed around Win10 1903 where they locked many operations with cumulative updates and pushed it away from priority.
So it needs rewamping and a separate page to uncheck and support presets.
Removals are delicately maintained in the Components page, this to allow blind package removal might not even be wise in the first place.
The catch is that packages remove too much in many cases.

Those mentioned options are already in NTLite, let me know which you cannot find in Settings as they don't have to be named the same.
Maybe 8.3 short names are not there, will see if it's even important these days.
For image integrity check go to Menu - Settings, Verify image files.

Oh MSFN, nice to see you, yeah time flies - and it's still fun. Feel free to contact me over email.

Thanks for that fast response!
Really, those options are already there... then sorry, i didnt see them, alright, i take a look, and then i say what i do really miss what i think it would be good.
The 8.3 tweak, well, isnt it for more performance to stop creating those names? Okay, today with SSD it may not really provide any noticable perfomance, but in my eyes it does have also something to do with "clean up" u know?
Sadly that i cant use ntlite now, i need to reinstall, since it doesnt support the newest Insider and it also doesnt work when i use it even when i dont remove much, dunno if u know this already, but the same error i had before it didnt supported the 29580 canary. After support it worked.
I dont know if u need bug report since its not supported

And yea, its still fun to find out more about Windows, what can be removed and so on, i like researching on the System and find any useful stuff

Every bit of optimization is welcome, will add NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation, seems to still be relevant - must have misinterpreted something or it led to some issues back in the day - but now no one needs short names so it's a welcome addition.

I'm not aware of an unsupported build, feel free to name it. Make sure you're using the latest version.
Attach the broken preset as well.
There are some fixes in the pipeline, should be released tomorrow, you might retry then.

Let me know how it goes when you do.
Thanks.
