Good evening, for some strange reason Host Refresh has stopped working and I need it to recover a component (Disk Quota) to install a program that requires it.
A year ago when I created this Windows 10 LTSC ISO I set all the protections for Host Refresh, but still I don't know why now is not working anymore.

Is there any way to recover Disk Quota?

Greetings and thank you very much

To run Host refresh, you must have a current NT license and a copy of the original, clean ISO. A copy of the old preset is preferred, but NTLite can perform Host refresh without one.

Hello. of course I have an NTlite with license.
The thing is that host refresh does not work anymore in my Ntlited installed windows and I cannot restore components. So my question is if there is any way to restore "Disk Quota" without doing host refresh?
Thanks

Why can't you run Host refresh? Was WinSxS folder removed? Then it's impossible to repair with NTLite.

The only other solution is to make a new ISO, which is identical to the installed host but includes Disk Quota. Make a system backup. Then run an in-place upgrade to replace your Windows, but keeping your user files and programs.

To be honest I do not know why Host Refresh does not work, I suppose that I have deleted something necessary with some program to clean junk files. I have gone to the directory C:\windows\winxs and I see that it is there.
If I copy this folder from another Windows installation will I be able to repair Host Refresh?

No, because WinSxS has the components that match your installed image. Another PC might have a different set of similar files, but I wouldn't risk causing a new set of problems. Are you able to install Monthly Updates? If updates work, then your WinSxS is in good shape.

Yes. Windows update works perfectly. Do I still have any hope to fix Host refresh?

I don't have enough information. What happens when you run Host refresh with a clean copy of the Windows ISO?

Hello again,
Finally it worked perfectly!!
As you told me I used exactly the same ISO that is currently installed, just adding the component I needed.
Instead of using an original unmodified ISO which gave me the error.

Thank you so much garlin for your help! ;)

Tbh I do wonder, since I am also in a similar struggle or rather I am learning how to get back once deleted components back to the system, why does it not work with a fresh .iso of the respected windows version?

I don't know why, it's so strange.
i prepared a modified iso with the desired component and then used it to restore that component with the installed windows.

maybe it is a bug in NTlite

Bro can you maybe show me if its not to much to ask step by step what you have done in order to get components back, i feel so stupid, but idk how to bring the components i need back to my current host... :/
