Some questions about the new UI. Seems laggy?

Since I cannot see a slowdown I cannot fix it. Please install previous version of your choosing (e.g. from winget), and see what is slow so I can measure it. Anything would help, so far in both topics you just give broad-stroke opinions and no meat on the bones.

Perhaps I need to go back to Windows 10 then. I am not very fond of 11, but I only use it because that's what we support at work and I wanted to become more familiar with it.

Ten years of using this product is hardly just an opinion.
 
I also had that feeling of "slowness" compared to the old UI, but it's actually the animation that gives that impression.

Not present, to see with nuhi to add it, if possible
After that, the animation is really only present on the Image page
 
OK, now we have something to cook with.
Will read from Windows if menu animations are turned off and follow that automatically.

I certainly have animations disabled in Windows 11, but I would love to know how to do this in NTLite.

It will follow Windows settings automatically in the next version, to not clutter the UI with the option you already answered in Windows.

I'm sorry if I'm out of line, but were not running a 'Triple-A' game here. It's a 'tool' to get the job done, and one is hardly going to be living in that tool's space?, so what does it matter if it takes longer to load, or is slower than the previous version? Surely, the most important thing is that, it does what you want it to do, no?

I really couldn't give a toss if it loads slower, nor do I for any 'animations' lol!

The end result is my 'final OS image', and that is all that matters to me, for which, this 'tool' excels.

I'd rather more time spent on preventing nonsense crap, than tying a Dev up with stuff that just ain't important :)

This is the A-Typical hateful response that people give in this forum. Yes, you are out of line, but you are certainly not sorry because you said it anyway. I do live in this tool; all day long. You don't pump out 900 images in less than two years without living in it. If you are giving advice on how to be rude and hateful, then you have certainly succeeded at that.

I have been using NTLite for years on a laptop running an up-to-date version of Windows 10.
Since the latest versions featuring the new interface, NTLite takes much longer—both to load an ISO and to perform the requested operations and modify the image.
It’s nothing major, but everything takes longer.

thanks for reporting, but loading an ISO really should not take longer to begin with, maybe smoother animations throw you off.
Since that is easy to test, please do:
- reboot the machine to clear memory cache, very important, once you load a file it's much faster
- then do a load of an ISO with the old version (or tell me which you need)
copy the %temp%\ntlite.log aside renamed to something like ntlite_old.log
- unload+discard changes
- then reboot and repeat with the new version
- attach both files here or time yourself with a stopwatch

1 - Its now too easy to expand drop down lists, previously had to click on the arrow now just clicking the name will do it. I prefer the old behaviour. This is perhaps my biggest issue, so making this change I would be very grateful.
2 - The preset list already had a cluttering issue with all the needless auto presets (please allow us to disable auto preset generation), but now they can appear auto expanded making it worse.
3 - Too much animations now, and in particular the animation on the left after loading a wim, is too slow, it feels like a phone interface now in that respect.
4 - Some font sizes seem imbalanced compared to old UI, on that UI I never felt something looked out of place likt too big or too small, but on this one, the numbers on the left (representing unapplied changes) feel too small compared to the text, please bump them up one size.
5 - I think features on demand should be tabbed as on my screen its off the bottom, I could only find it by scrolling and almost forgot it existed. services etc. are tabbed, so this would make it consistent with other areas of UI.
6 - Some stuff got renamed which made me confused, especially as this was combined with not honouring previous preset configuration.
So as I understand it the old dism (compatible) is now 'normal' , the old dism (reset base) is either just reset base or reset basedeferred), unclear which. I tested all 3 options and the size generated was no more than 2 megabytes difference, since normal is safest, I reverted to that (I previously used dism compatible and it silently moved me to reset base deffered).

I am not against the UI change as a whole, and I do feel some areas are improved like the post setup screen, which looks much better now.

I have noticed extra lag, but it is bearable, and I assume will get optimised over time.

1. let me know if new version is still too easy to expand, I know it might be as titles are still clickable, then there can be an option to disable that
2. done, check the new Menu - Settings - Presets
3. done
4. let me know if better, any area that fonts are not OK, let me know
5. thinking about tabs on the features page, good idea
6. just resetbase defered was added, tooltip explains it. I suggest normal, to be on the safe side, or resetbase if you need max cleanup (which I didn't notice much)

I hope you like the new one, just didn't do Features tab for now.
