Getting the following error message when I was doing an update check for NTLite - so I did a manual update to the latest version. When checking for Windows updates, I get the same message.

Happening on another computer with an older version and another computer in another network.
Guessing something beyond my environment is the issue.

Error 0x803D0006 is a network session timeout; that's probably a firewall, VPN or ISP issue. But more likely on your side.

What host is the update trying to connect to? I'll see if it is getting caught somewhere.

NTLite checks its own server to get the monthly Updates list. After that, it directly connects to the MS download servers.

I'm curious what that 'own server' DNS name is so I can see if a content filter or something has it miscategorized possibly.

This happened to me, I don't remember which of the previous versions.

But when updating NTLIte the problem was fixed.

The problem is with the NTLite server itself, as I saw that it didn't even connect to the Microsoft servers when it happened to me.

So, if you have another computer to test, it would be proof of nine if it is really your environment.

Hi, was it resolved?
Works fine in my tests, of course that a server can have temporary issues or a firewall blocked it.

I am still having issues with version 2024.8.10045. This worked for ages on this network and now it does not. I'm not above thinking it is something on my network, but don't have all the information to trace it. I don't see any blocked URLs on my firewall logs, even turned off all security features (content filtering, IDS/IPS) and still nothing.

I'm trying to see what host it is trying to connect to, but I don't see anything from ntlite.exe trying to connect to anything in Resource Monitor. What is the hostname or IP of the endpoint defined at 'ServerAddress' that it is cannot reach?

Edit: found it: licensing.ntlite.com
Not showing that blocked on my firewall or anywhere. Wonder if a peering issue with my ISP?

Edit2: UGGGGG. I'm an idiot. I had Germany blocked on a layer 7 rule due to a crazy amount of traffic trying to hack my network a while back. I forgot about it. Works now.

Everything is fine with me.

If you have another computer on the same network as yours, do the test, that way you will know if it is your machine or your network, but NTLite is not.

I've heard of people blocking Russian & Chinese ASIN's, but never Germany!
