I decided to renew my license yesterday so I could try out the new Download Updates feature. I was very impressed by how easy the feature is to use but also a bit miffed that after installing the resulting image (using Virtual Box) some updates were still missing.

Perhaps I'm being naive but I was expecting to 'Check for Updates' and find that everything was fully up-to-date.

I have attached screenshots of what was shown in Windows Update. Is this normal?

Apologies if this has been discussed and explained elsewhere...

Hi Daztronics,

thanks for the report.
On the official documentation page for that feature it states that .NET 4.x under Win7 is not supported.
Reason is that the .NET 4.X installer is needed to be ran after install so it cannot be trully integrated.
.NET 3.5 pieces are supported, but since those are cumulative updates, they are mentioned just because the 4.X parts are not there.

IE cumulative update should be corrected on the list, missed that one.

That said will check a bit more by Monday and reply back.

Thanks nuhi! Appreciate the response.

For what it's worth, I have attached the preset I used along with reports of the hotfixes installed at first boot and then after letting WU do it's thing.

Added KB2894844 to the online list, it's an old .NET 3.5 update for WU completeness.

The IE11 KB3185319, explained here by abbodi86 (aka 'The updates Jesus'). Win7 preview CU used in your preset is KB4457139.
Added to the online list.

All the rest not mentioned here are .NET 4.X related, and visible from their name, your choice to install that additional feature plus its updates.

Great! I tested again (from scratch) and everything worked out as you described it would.

Thanks for following this up. Much appreciated!
