Windows Security Kills Apps

I have created a generic iso for Windows 10 2021 LTSC iot. I added a folder to the install.wim.
Inside the folder are some portable apps including a copy of SDI-Lite.exe.
I disabled all of Windows security in NTLite, but after installing Windows I found that all of the exe files in the folder had been deleted.
I have not tried to rename the exe's to something like "sdi.exe.org", because I am sure windows would still kill the exe file.
It is nice to have a driver installer built into the install.wim.

Is there a worked around, so that windows doesn't kill the exe files in the added folder?

Deleted or not added to the image? Normally you shouldn't add app files directly to a mounted image (unless you're doing a sysprep capture). The usual method is to add the same folder to the ISO, so it's copied to the system regardless of which image is selected.

If Defender or a 3rd-party security app is deleting your SDI-Lite, it should be recorded in the quarantine logs.

I used NTLite 2025.11.10675 to make the ISO.
I removed all of Windows security using NTLite.
I used GImageX to mount the install.wim.
I copied my "First Installs" folder (the folder with my portable apps) into the Programs folder of the install.wim.
I save the install.wim and unmounted it using GImageX.
I used Anyburn to replace the original install.wim with the my newly created install.wim and save it to the iso.
I use Rufus to create an install usb from newly created ISO to install windows.
After I installed windows the executables (the exe files) of portable apps in that were in "First Install" folder were gone.
I am assuming that windows security zapped my portable apps executables in the "First Install" folder.
All non executable files that were in the "First Installs" folder were still there after windows was installed.
I want to be able to have a portable copy of SDI-Lite and a portable brower in the ISO.
Any help will be appreciated.

SDI or SDIO? I don't use Snappy Driver, but my understanding SDIO is digitally signed, and the other one gets flagged more often as malware.
