Is there a way to call up what I did?

Let's say I'm all done with NTLite and I've already made my custom install disc. The program has been closed. Let's say I want to go back into the program and see what I did. I want to see what I removed (or did I remove a specific component)?

Is there a way to call up the work I did? I never saw a save button anywhere.

Upon exit from the program I see the "Save the current pending changes to a preset" "auto-saved", and I think I did check that box, but I don't see a way to call it up.

Unless I'm wrong about checking that box.

Hi,

by default tool saves last session under Presets of the main (Images) page, right-side list.
Auto-saved, top being the newest.

Same XML is copied to the root of ISO itself (auto saved xml).

You can import and load it on a full non-edited image, or read with an text editor.

If there are no presets, for example if the option to back it up on the ISO was disabled and Presets or NTLite were deleted, then you can load the resulting image and go to Presets - Save As - Extract current state.

NTLite will only auto-save a working session whenever you Apply pending changes. If you haven't applied changes, it's your responsibility to do Preset / Save in your current session.

If you have already created an ISO, and disabled Auto-save or deleted/lost the Auto-save and preset file, there is a way to recover NTLite's edits to a finished ISO.

1. Load the modded image.
2. Preset / Save / Extract current image state -> New preset
3. Load a clean version of the same image.
4. Load your new preset.
5. Preset / Save as... -> Recovered preset

The recovered preset only covers changes NTLite is aware of, meaning anything that NTLite could edit on its own. It does not recover Post-Setup tasks or imported reg files.

I thought I checked the box "Auto save". I could be mistaken, but I thought I did. I don't think I hit the Apply button though.
There is no where where it says Preset - Save - Extract current image state - New preset.
What does Load a clean version of the same image mean?

You can only "Extract current image state" from a loaded image. Normally that's any previously edited image, or it can be the live Windows image (for licensed users). A clean version means the original, untouched Windows ISO of the same build. Before you made any edits.

"Extract current image state" simply creates an inventory listing of the image's existing contents, but that's not usable by itself. You find an untouched ISO to load your extracted preset on top in order to create a new NTLite preset which can be used.
