after 13-14 february KB4074590 update, explorer.exe is working but its all black. i can use my computer just can't reach desktop. desktop comes back after 5 minutes of doing nothing.

is it ntlite related or aeroglass, startisback10 or wallpaperengine maybe? does anyone know?

Can you please attach the preset used, which I can use to replicate the scenario to see if it's removals?
Meaning, I'm guessing you had .214 installed, what was removed. Then will install latest KB onto it.

I deleted wallpaper engine, aeroglass and startisback. and still there is black screen.

when i delete update pc returns to normal. idk which component etc causes this but it is really annoying
 
I'm confused by your answer, there are no such components in this tool.
 
They are 3rd party installed by me at first i thought they were the reason but they are not. Apperantly my edits are the problem

i format my pc. and only installed latest drivers. after updates i restarted my pc and it stuck at loading desktop at black screen. it takes like 5-10 minutes to load desktop during that time i can use task manager and use explore folders (so i can use explorer.exe) but except that my desktop and startmenu is missing.

maybe the problem is explorer.exe is partially working. startbar and desktop is not there but i can use file explorer....

it only happens after this update.... not happening in virtual machine. i even tried older version of explorer.exe didnt work. so i am assuming that its not a desktop loading problem. because when desktop appears after 5-10 mins all the tray icons are fully loaded. during black screen desktop loading works and finishes.

OK, if you have a preset demonstrating that, I would like to test and fix it.
So make sure that it happens with the edited ISO only with NTLite to simplify the replication, and which exact updates are integrated (none?) and which installed after?

preset is attached to main comment, i don't integrate any update they were downloaded and installed via windows update as always.

windows 10 enterpriseS LTSB iso edited with that preset only..

Btw if you wait long enough (5min or so), Explorer/Desktop does start.
 
yes that what i was doing to use my computer.... it was booting up in 2-3 secconds now i wait 5-10 mins.. :)

actually, I am happy that this is caused by Windows itself because i have tons of tweaks i apply to my computer or any of the softwares may cause this problem. It would take my 5-10 days to find out one by one what was causing this..

btw did you find out which component etc was causing this? waiting for fix i really need it fast thx!

this is another error i got after different update:

after this update i got CDPUserSvc_16235b stopped working error again...

tmp and locaiton are enabled? what is wrong this time?

kb4051033 looks like a previous cumulative update, in other words same problem, different package.
Let's wait until the underlying issue is solved, it should all fit in place then.

okay i'm just letting you know about all the errors i got... and waiting here for fixes, thank you for your great works!
 
According to my tests it was the MiracastView component removal, if Media Streaming kept.
Fixed that in the next version, until then either remove Media Streaming as well, or I can send you the test version to try.
Should be released next Monday after checking some more things.
Streaming/Casting and Miracast app are tightly interconnected - if you know what else needs Casting, let me know.

Thanks i can wait untill monday if its going to be rock solid :) those both 2 errors are going to be fixed right?
 
I have tested both KBs after processing the preset from this thread and it was ok, no blank screen and CDPUserSvc service is started.
 
okay if service started and didnt gave error within 10-15 minutes than its okay! thank you i am waiting for next release!
