True, but how much longer can NTLite keep up with MS's nonsense? Also, to have maximum control the process requires that updates be disabled and that is not optimal as sometimes MS adds a feature or a change I might actually want. This is the exact reason as to why we have Ntlite, allows us users to make windows as close as possible to what we want.
Like, when they added dark mode improvements earlier this year. I wanted that. At first, I ran Windows Update and it ended up breaking two systems. So, I had to do a whole new build and install it just to get that.
And then that constant struggle to keep up with what breaks what and unwanted features that just can't be disabled at all, as discussed in couple of other threads already.
It really is just applications and game modding that is keeping me on Windows. Windows offers literally nothing besides a richer and more mature software ecosystem. It's just a platform to run my apps. If I could do all I want with equal simplicity on Linux, I would have dropped Windows already. But Linux has a lot problems of its own, too.
I know I can run many apps on Linux in wine, bottles, etc., but that adds a layer of complexity and it's not as reliable and straightforward and, by far, not as pleasant. I tried.
