Guides / Power Plan Integration

Power Plan Integration

Import, export, and configure Windows power plans directly in images.

Starting with version 2025.4, NTLite supports handling of Windows 'Power plans'. Configure power settings directly in offline images or live deployments.

Location

Power plan features are located on the Registry page after loading an image.

Supported Features

  • Integration of a POW file
  • Export a plan to a POW file
  • Direct host import on the fly (premium feature), optionally overwrite existing plan/GUID
  • Set active plan
  • Renaming or changing description
  • Deleting plans

How It Works

All operations are direct to registry without extra tools or operations during install. This supports both offline images and live deployments (e.g., C:\Windows).

Workflow

  1. Configure your power plan using Windows Settings or powercfg on the host
  2. Work on the active plan to set your preferred settings
  3. Export the active-tagged host plan for future use, or import directly to an image
  4. Preset remembers imported plans and will refresh them on each new apply

You can also export power plans from an image.

Special Plans

Note:Some plans have non-standard names like 'High Performance Overlay'. These are usually hidden in Windows behind the slider. See Microsoft's documentation on customizing the power slider for more information.
